We are looking for a talented Budget Analyst to join our growing Federal team. As a Budget Analyst with Malbaie, you will provide financial management to support both transactional budget needs and business process improvement as well as operational support and ad hoc reporting needs to exceed the requirements of our clients and help them succeed. We are passionate about supporting our clients and looking for a talented, analytical, and like-minded individual to join us.

 

In this role, responsibilities will include:

  • Support development, maintenance, and reconciliation of annual budget
  • Oversee budget modifications and spend monitoring for the annual budget
  • Answer inquiries and help resolve budget issues for internal staff
  • Create annual budget status reports as well as multi-year forecasting as needed
  • Forecast spend and perform functional financial analysis
  • Utilize trends and operational information to develop budget projections

 

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience as a Budget Analyst
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong data analysis skills using Excel
  • Experience working with large data sets
  • Solid financial management experience
  • Solid understanding of Federal Government budget cycle and phases
  • Experience preparing financial management and budgetary reports
  • Understanding of Federal Government administrative processes
  • Good understanding of reconciling and forecasting principles
  • Technical expertise in analysis and organization in complex data sets
  • Strong adaptability and capable of working in fast paced environments
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Experience with federal government financial principles, processes, and tools
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance

 

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Master’s or other advanced education in related field(s)
  • Understanding of Federal Gov’t Accounting
  • Experience with grants budget planning
