SBA 8(a) Certified Logo

The 8(a) Program is a business assistance program that allows agencies to buy services and products directly from small disadvantaged businesses that are certified under the Small Business Administration. The 8(a) contract vehicle provides agencies a simplified, streamlined acquisition procedure to procure sole source contracts up to a ceiling of $4 million for goods and services. Malbaie is an SBA 8(a) certified company with a valid designation through November 18, 2027. The regulations governing the 8(a) BD program are located in Title 13 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Subpart A, Section 124 (13 CFR § 124).

8(a) STARS III, a small business set-aside GWAC, provides flexible access to customized IT solutions from a large, diverse pool of 8(a) industry partners. This next-generation GWAC builds upon the framework of 8(a) STARS II and expands capabilities for emerging technologies and outside the continental United States (OCONUS) requirements. 

Contract Specifics:

  • $50 billion program ceiling to allow for long-term planning of enterprise-wide requirements

  • Period of Performance: July 2, 2021 through July 1, 2034 (inclusive of options, if exercised, and task order performance beyond the ordering period)

  • 8(a) STARS III allows for FFP, T&M, labor-hour or a hybrid blend of these task order types.

  • Contract access fee for the 8(a) STARS III GWAC is .75%.

  • Contract includes two sub-areas; emerging technology and OCONUS requirements.

  • Over 100 labor categories available.
